# Snap OS and Lens Studio (Specs)

How apps reach Snap's Specs glasses. Apps are Lenses, sandboxed experiences built in Lens Studio and moderated by Snap before publication. Developers also get a Native Development Kit. Snap's operating system is called Snap OS in earlier material and SPECS OS in coverage of the September 2026 launch.
