# How to add apps to Meta Ray-Ban Display

Third-party apps for the Meta Ray-Ban Display are web apps you add by link in the Meta AI app, after turning on Developer Mode. There's no app store yet, so you find apps through community catalogues and developers.

## Steps

1. **Check your versions**: Meta's docs list glasses software v125 or later and Meta AI app v272 or later. Update both before you start. The Neural Band is optional for web apps.
2. **Turn on Developer Mode in the Meta AI app**: On the phone paired with your glasses, open the Meta AI app, go to Settings > App Info, and tap the App version number five times. Tap Enable in the pop-up. Developer Mode stays on, so you only do this once.
3. **Get the app's web address**: Each web app is a normal HTTPS address. Developers share them directly, and community catalogues such as GlassApps list them. Meta runs a submission form for developers but no public store.
4. **Connect the web app**: In the Meta AI app, open App Settings > Apps > Web Apps > Connect Web App. Enter the HTTPS address and tap Save. Developers can also add an app by scanning a QR code generated in Meta's simulator.
5. **Open it on your glasses**: The app appears at the bottom of the app grid on your glasses. Pin it for quicker access, then select it to launch.
6. **Use it on your glasses**: Swipe up, down, left or right to move between the app's controls, and pinch or tap to select. Back takes you to the previous screen. Text boxes open the system composer for handwriting, dictation or an on-screen keyboard. A middle tap opens the web-app menu, with Restart, Resume and Permissions.

## Good to know

- This is a developer preview, so the steps, menus and what apps can do may change.
- There's no official app store, and no published review process for what a web app can do. Only add addresses from developers or catalogues you trust.
- Web apps must be at a publicly reachable HTTPS address. The glasses can't load a local or plain-http one.
- Apps built with Meta's native toolkit are shared differently, through release channels of up to 100 testers. This guide covers web apps only.
- Community catalogues are run by independent developers, not Meta. BuildForGlasses hasn't tested the apps they list.
