## Apps, developers and the built-in assistant

These glasses have no display, so web apps for the lens don't apply. Meta's Wearables Device Access Toolkit lets developers build phone apps that use the glasses' camera, microphone and audio, but public publishing isn't open yet.

### Do they run third-party apps, and on what platform?

- Not on the glasses themselves. Meta lists Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1 and Gen 2) as supported by its Device Access Toolkit, which gives apps camera, microphone, audio and motion access. ([developers.meta.com](https://developers.meta.com/wearables/faq) · checked 2026-10-23)
- Meta says developers "will soon be able to submit" experiences and that discovery surfaces are coming with no set date, so there is no store to browse yet. ([developers.meta.com](https://developers.meta.com/wearables/faq) · checked 2026-10-23)

### Can developers build for them?

- Yes, with the Wearables Device Access Toolkit. Meta says it is no longer in developer preview and that 1.0 rolls out from 30 September 2026. ([developers.meta.com](https://developers.meta.com/wearables/faq) · checked 2026-10-23)

The sources checked don't say what Meta AI can and can't do on these glasses, so that part is left out.
